Tinsley Mortimor Book Signing Party @ Nectar Skin Bar (Washington, DC)

Socialite Tinsley Mortimor, celebrated her first book “Southern Charm” at Nectar Skin Bar in Georgetown. The novel is about a South Carolina girl named Minty Davenport who heads up north to the Big Apple to find herself. The story is fiction but stems from a lot of Tinsley’s own personal experiences.

The intimate gathering hosted by DC’s own Ashley Taylor, Krista Johnson, and Josie Taylor (no relation) brought the new author for an exclusive book signing soiree. The venue was tastefully decorated with purple hues further supplemented by purple flowers by H.Bloom. In addition, Hpnotiq Harmonie satiated thirsts with book-themed libations.

A beauty ambassador for Christian Dior and a fasion designer, Ms. Mortimor now adds author to her already exceptional resume.

Carpenter’s Cook-Off @ Birchmere (Alexandria, VA)

Since 1988, the Carpenter’s Shelter is the largest homeless shelter in Northern Virginia. They serve over 1000 men, women and children and help them from giving them the basic needs of food and clothes to more structural programs and educational opportunities.

The Carpenter’s Cook-Off not only brings together participating restaurants but foodies who came to partake in the bounty. For $40 (which goes towards helping the shelter), guests can come and try foods from nearby restaurants. I was lucky enough to not only photograph the participants, but to also taste the food! They were all delicious and in the end I was  stuffed!

Participating Restaurants:

A La Lucia, Bittersweet, Tempo, Brabo, Pork Barrel BBQ, Dishes of India, Fireflies, Del Ray Pizzeria, Bread & Chocolate, Geranio, Jackson 20, The Majestic, Overwood, Southside 815, Asian Bistro, T.J. Stone’s, Union Street Public House, Fish Market, The Light Horse, Bigg Riggs Farm, Gaylord National, Misha’s, Rustico

Brandon Routh [Superman Returns, Chuck] – (Los Angeles, CA)

SPOTTED: Brandon Routh – Mr. Superman himself – talking about his upcoming movie and another possible Superman movie?! Fans can only hope.

HOW YOU KNOW HIM: Brandon reached mega stardom when he was cast as the newest Clark Kent in the movie Superman Returns. He also did a stint in the (now canceled but very popular) tv show Chuck.

WHY YOU SHOULD CARE: Not only is he the newest Superman which is awesome enough in itself. BUT he is also coming out with a new movie called Crooked Arrows where he plays a lacrosse coach who helps his team of high school reservation students battle against the more funded and well-equipped teams. I smell a David and Goliath story coming on.
